Casino night fundraiser at The Fuge aims to raise money for children in need in Bucks County
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (April 2018) – Penn Community Bank, Bucks County’s leading independent, mutual bank, is proud to serve as the lead sponsor for the United Way of Bucks County “Bet on Success” fundraiser on April 20 at The Fuge in Warminster.
Bet on Success is a casino night fundraiser organized with the aim of raising $35,000 or more to help children in need. Its goal is to provide low-income and at-risk children with scholarships for high quality pre-K education. Decades of research show that early education is crucial to the future success of children, but full-time pre-K programs can cost as much as $10,000 in Bucks County. United Way of Bucks County asserts that 76 percent of children who should have a public early education do not have access to it due to budget limitations.
“We are proud to partner with the United Way to offer access to pre-K education to some of our area’s hardest-working families,” said Penn Community Bank President and CEO Jeane M. Vidoni. “We believe that all children should be able to benefit from high quality early education.”
Penn Community Bank is a long-time supporter of United Way of Bucks County, the mission of which is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities to advance the common good. In 2017, the bank was able to donate $77,675 to the United Way, raised primarily through the annual campaign commitments from the bank’s 300-plus team members.
A volunteer committee that includes employees of Penn Community Bank has organized Bet on Success in collaboration with the United Way’s own Young Donors Committee. The event will take place on April 20 at 7 pm at The Fuge in Warminster. Food stations, a signature dessert bar, a signature cocktail, wine, beer, and $50 worth of starter chips are included as part of each reservation.
