Local bank donates $12,000 to Quakertown area food security initiative

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. (August 2023) – Penn Community Bank, the largest mutual bank in eastern Pennsylvania, has once again partnered with St. Luke’s University Health Network to ensure no Quakertown-area child goes without a nutritious lunch during the summer months.

That begins by ensuring children in our region have reliable access to healthy food throughout the year – including during the summer months,” said Jeane M. Penn Community Bank Chief Legal & Risk Officer expands involvement in local legal community

 PERKASIE, Pa (June 2023) – Stephanie Schwartzberg, Esq., Chief Legal & Risk Officer at Penn Community Bank, has been named to the Board of Trustees for the Bucks County Bar Foundation at the organization’s May 17 meeting. She joins the leadership of the 501c3 for a three-year term.

 “I am honored to join the Board of Trustees of the Bucks County Bar Foundation and for the opportunity to collaborate with such a distinguished group of local legal professionals working to improve access to justice throughout our community,” said Schwartzberg. “I look forward to bringing my perspective as in-house corporate counsel to the organization and expanding the positive reach of Penn Community Bank in professional and community organizations throughout the region.”

Bucks Built Fund provides grants to four Bucks Co. businesses; $40,000 in grants still available

PERKASIE, Pa. (May 2023) – Penn Community Bank, the largest mutual bank in eastern Pennsylvania, is continuing its commitment to grow the local economy and support area businesses by providing grants to four innovative startups. The $5,000 grants are the latest in the continued a partnership between Penn Community Bank and Doylestown-based nonprofit Startup Bucks. Recipients of Bucks Built Fund support include:

• ByeByeCry – Developed a unique sound machine designed to soothe babies with colic.
• Liquid Limbs – Designed a waterproof prosthetic shower device for individuals with lower limb loss.
• MentoMind – Created an AI chatbot to help students overcome procrastination and meet deadlines.
• So Fresh So Green Juice Co – Founded to make drinking healthy juice fun, tasty, and relatable.

In addition to this cohort, Penn Community Bank and Startup Bucks are pleased to announce their continued partnership in 2023, with an additional $40,000 in grants – up to $10,000 per business – to be awarded this fall. Bucks Built Fund grant recipients will be announced at an expo-style event designed to bring the local startup community together.

CIO joins executive leadership team of region’s largest mutual bank

 PERKASIE, Pa. (May 2023) – Penn Community Bank, the largest mutual bank in eastern Pennsylvania, has named Randy McGarry Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer (CIO).

McGarry joins the institution with 30 years of financial services and leadership experience, most recently serving as Chief Information Officer at Malvern-based Meridian Bank. As CIO, he will oversee Penn Community Bank’s information technology, payment functions, deposit and loan operations, and project management efforts.

Penn Community Bank teams up with Pennridge School District for student financial literacy program

Recent studies show that, three out of four of teens don’t feel confident in their financial knowledge, preventing them from building a base for future financial decision-making – from building a budget to saving from summer job.

In an effort to help build a firm foundation for local kids, Penn Community Bank has teamed up with Pennridge School District to offer a new Financial Literacy Lessons program for middle school students. With a parent’s permission, students in 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th grade at Pennridge South, North, and Central middle schools signed up to attend the voluntary financial education session during their study hall or elective period.
