BRISTOL, Pa. (October 2018): The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce has honored Penn Community Bank, the area’s leading independent, mutual financial organization, for 60 years of membership.

Chamber leaders presented the award to Penn Community Bank Chief Relationship Officer Todd Hurley in a ceremony on Oct. 13 during the Chamber’s 60th anniversary celebration. Held at the Sheraton Bucks County, the evening included casino table games, a strolling magician, a buffet dinner, and live music.

Contribution will help Bucks County-based nonprofit generate an additional 30,000 pounds of locally grown fresh produce for hungry neighbors across the area

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (September 2018) – Penn Community Bank, Bucks County’s leading independent, mutual financial organization, has donated $15,000 to Rolling Harvest Food Rescue, to help deliver more fresh, healthy produce into the hands of food-insecure people across the area.

Rolling Harvest’s goal is to turn area food pantries into farmers’ markets, by working directly with local farmers to pick up surplus fresh produce from local farm fields and deliver it to hunger relief centers. Penn Community Bank’s donation will support two of Rolling Harvest’s efforts: Fresh Connect Bucks County, a collaborative program that brings free, mobile farmers’ markets to Bristol, Ottsville, and Warminster each week, and a new initiative to defray basic infrastructure and labor costs that prevent small farms from donating the fresh produce they grow.

Bernard Tynes, Vice President of Retail Strategy and Distribution, has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Bankers Association’s Emerging Leaders Advisory Committee. He will serve a 3-year term.

The committee is a regional and statewide forum that offers ongoing opportunities to emerging leaders in the Pennsylvania banking industry. The organization aims to support emerging leaders who aspire to greater levels of responsibility in financial services.

Independent, mutual bank supports donates $10,000 to provide shelter to homeless adult Bucks County residents in crisis

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (September 2018) – Penn Community Bank, the area’s leading independent, mutual bank, has donated $10,000 to support Penn Foundation’s Village of Hope, a temporary housing program for homeless adults in Bucks County who have been diagnosed with both a mental health and a substance abuse disorder.

The Village of Hope is located on the campus of Penn Foundation in Sellersville, which brings stability, hope, and change to people battling mental health and addiction issues. Residents stay at the Village of Hope for an average of nine months but can stay up to two years if needed, all the while having access to Penn Foundation services.

The area’s leading independent mutual bank aims to help prepare local college students for financial success

LANGHORNE, Pa. (August 2018) – Penn Community Bank is pleased to announce a new partnership with Cairn University.

As the official bank of the university in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, Penn Community Bank will serve the campus community by providing banking opportunities for students, faculty, and staff through an on-campus, restricted-access branch which will open in late August. Cairn University and Penn Community Bank also are exploring potential internship and employment opportunities for Cairn students, as well as ways to promote ongoing financial literacy efforts, which is a core focus of Penn Community Bank.
