My thoughts and good wishes are with you and your families, first and foremost for your health and safety.
As a community bank CEO, before social distancing, I was immersed in personal connections and events on a daily basis. Sharing meals with colleagues and customers, attending fundraisers and meetings for non-profit organizations, and touring local companies filled my days with joy, achievement and great purpose.
We, like all of you, have been jolted into a new reality. And still we are here for you. As one who believes in self-care in order to be my best for others, I set daily intentions and remain optimistic. In addition, the Penn Community Bank leadership team continually reviews banking, psychology, leadership, and economic information to provide our best counsel and support to our employees, customers and families.
In an effort to serve our customers while keeping everyone safe, Penn Community Bank has pivoted to a predominantly remote work environment. We are using smaller operating teams at our financial centers via drive-through windows for transactions, while still providing customers with appointments for special needs, and our customer care center team members are working remotely. We have pulled out our pandemic management plan, redesigned our workflow, and begun to shift resources to serve you.
We understand now more than ever that banking is essential. Why? Because we serve a far-reaching aspect of your lives โ your economic well-being. We are essential because we serve your essential needs. The government has named banks as a distribution point for most of the recovery funds being established. We are working vigorously to digest information as it is released and to keep up with the daily flux that began early in April. Many of our team members have been working seven days a week, and most are working remotely from home. We have daily check-in calls, and we, like you, are rapidly adjusting to this new scenario.
My continued involvement with the American Bankers Association, Pennsylvania
Bankers Association, the Community Banking Council for the Federal Reserve, and the Federal Home Loan Bank gives me a seat at decision-making tables that invites input from our local banking community. I am grateful that many areas of the government are listening and making changes for more efficient processes and for greater funding if needed.
Penn Community Bank is financially strong, with capital and reserves to weather this chapter. We stand ready to serve you as your community partner.
As I continue my daily practice of setting positive intentions, I wish for your health and safety. We are all challenged with an undefined future. As a business and community leader, I promise to be the best I can be, to lead with my heart and mind, and to contribute all that I can to our future well-being.
Sincerely,
Jeane M. Vidoni
P.S. As a bank dedicated to our community, we partnered with the United Way of Bucks County to create the Bucks County COVID-19 Recovery Fund aimed at helping those who may experience a financial crisis as the result of the pandemic. The need for these funds continues to grow and our community has responded. If you have a need or would like to make a contribution, more information can be found at www.uwbucks.org/COVIDrecovery.
